Employee Development System
Human resources management typically employs tools such as course evaluation to validate and ascertain whether a training course achieved its specified aims and objectives. However, validation does not give information on whether the learners have indeed used the skills and knowledge gained from the participated training.
Training, no matter how good, is a waste of time if it does not help improve the business. Training will have no impact on the business unless the skills are used back in the workplace. Unused skills are soon forgotten: within six months it will be almost as if the training had never taken place. Yet surprisingly few organizations give return on training investment the priority it deserves.
Assuming the needs for training is clearly identified and the training has been properly delivered. It is critical that the skills and knowledge are practiced soon after the course to gain a lasting impact on the business. Employee Development System (EDS) is a simple-to-use web-based solution designed to reinforce the learning process beyond the workshop. EDS facilitates a smooth collaboration among the stakeholders (i.e. the learner, sponsors, coach and line managers) to allow monitoring, feedback and coaching that are essential to effectively transfer learning into practice.
